Oggi è Overshoot Day! Abbiamo consumato tutte le risorse naturali e rinnovabili fornite dal nostro pianeta, da oggi ogni cosa che consumeremo sarà sovra-consumo!
Abbiamo consumato in 8 mesi quello che avremo dovuto consumare in 12 mesi per l'anno 2012! Ogni anno diminuiamo questo periodo, invece di fare qualcosa per ridurre continuiamo a consumare più di quello che ci dà il nostro pianeta, come possiamo vedere dallo schema sotto! Secondo le stime, per vivere con le risorse che attualmente utilizzate avremmo bisogno di 1 pianeta e mezzo. Continuando di questo passo, le Terre necessarie a garantirci un rifornimento costante di risorse naturali, diventerebbero 2 entro il 2050. Ma ne abbiamo UNO!

Today, August 22, is Earth Overshoot Day, marking the date when humanity has exhausted nature’s budget for the year. We are now operating in overdraft.
We have consumed in 8 months what we should have consumed in 12 months for the year 2012! Each year this period of consumption is shorter, instead of doing something to reduce our footprint we continue to consume more than what our planet can as seen in the chart above! According to the expectations, to continue to live consuming this amount of resources, we would need 1 and a half planet. These would become 2 planets by 2050! But we only have ONE!
